This blog is a voyage into a dog’s world and a trip to a new place becomes all the more exciting if you know a bit of the new language. In this strange and exciting world, you’ll have double the fun if you knew a handful of terms (all English, I assure you!)
.

- Kibble: Staple diet for dogs – much touted by humans as a balanced diet, which it must be – but then too much of a good thing is bad!
- Bark: well…bark is bark…and that’s it.
- Lick: A gesture of affection.
- Wag: A gesture of friendship.
- Kiss: What? You really don’t know?! It’s obviously a slurpy lick!

- Treats: Gifts of the edible kind…in my case, with high chicken content!
- Bellyrub: The human technique of softly rubbing our tummies as we roll on our backs and enjoy the feeling…sigh!
- Humanese: English as spoken and written by the human species.
- Dogmese: A dialect of Humanese with a smattering of English words with a specific canine interpretation.
- Species-bias: The tendency of one species to consider another beneath itself.
I guess that’s that. If your digging turns up a Dogmese term that you don’t understand, leave me a comment and I’ll add it to this glossary here!
